Welcome to ArtisansConnect. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering, browsing, or using ArtisansConnect (the “Platform”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines or rules posted on the Platform. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to register as a customer or artisan. By using the Platform, you represent that you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts. If you are registering on behalf of a business, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity.

3. Account Registration & Security

  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Roles & Responsibilities

4.1 Customers

Customers post job listings, receive bids from artisans, and select an artisan to perform the work. Customers agree to:

  • Provide accurate job descriptions, budget, and location.
  • Communicate fairly and promptly with artisans.
  • Pay the agreed amount directly to the artisan (ArtisansConnect does not handle job payments).
  • Leave honest reviews after job completion.

4.2 Artisans (Providers)

Artisans offer services, bid on jobs, and perform work for customers. Artisans agree to:

  • Maintain an accurate profile, including service category, specialization, and portfolio (where applicable).
  • Submit genuine bids and deliver work as described.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, including tax obligations.
  • Respect customer property and privacy.
  • Not engage in fraudulent bidding or price manipulation.

5. Prohibited Activities

You may not use the Platform to:

  • Post false, misleading, or illegal job listings.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against any user.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.
  • Circumvent our fee or subscription systems.
  • Upload malware, viruses, or any code that disrupts the Platform.
  • Scrape or copy content without permission.
  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law.

6. Job Bidding & Contract Formation

When a customer posts a job, artisans submit bids. A binding contract between the customer and an artisan is formed only when the customer explicitly accepts the artisan's bid through the Platform. ArtisansConnect is not a party to any contract for services and is not responsible for performance or payment.

7. Subscription & Payments

  • Artisans pay subscription fees to access bidding features. Subscription fees are charged quarterly in advance.
  • All fees are non‑refundable except as provided in our Refund Policy.
  • We may change our fees with 30 days' notice posted on the Platform.
  • Customers do not pay fees to use the Platform (job posting is free).

8. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by ArtisansConnect and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer any part of the Platform without our prior written consent.

9. User Content & Feedback

You retain ownership of any content you post (e.g., job descriptions, profile information, reviews). By posting, you grant ArtisansConnect a non‑exclusive, royalty‑free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content for operating and improving the Platform. We welcome feedback; any suggestions you submit become our property without compensation.

10. Termination & Suspension

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, you lose access to your account and any unused subscription credits.

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error‑free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ArtisansConnect disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall ArtisansConnect be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or any transactions between users.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold ArtisansConnect harmless from any claims, losses, or damages (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your violation of any law or third‑party rights.

13. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act. You waive the right to participate in class actions.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Platform or by email. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
